History of Shepton

Shepton House was built in 1904 by Percival and Edith Hammon, whose son went on to create Scenic World, one of the Blue Mountains major tourist attractions. It was named 'Shepton' after Edith's birthplace in England. Rumour has it that the sandstone used to build it came from the nearby Carrington Hotel.
